(POEM) WE FOUGHT AND THE FIGHT CONTINUES………..

WE FOUGHT AND THE FIGHT CONTINUES………..

WE   FOUGHT   AND  THE  FIGHT   CONTINUES………..

We  were faceless
Yet fearless.
In search of our face
Making self determination our base,
bare hands we fought
Men’s with loaded gun.
Khukuri, our only weapon of defense
Against men whose sole purpose was offence.
Roared the TIGER OF HILLS,
From the QUEEN OF HILLS,
“ARTICLE 7 OF THE INDO NEPAL TREATY OF 1950 IS FAKE”
Everyone believed him, so did I
As our fate and destiny were at stake.
“Guns may run out of bullets
Khukuri remains forever”
The charisma of this tiger
spread like a wild fire.
Its roar shook the entire nation
With a volcanic tremor.
We followed Him,
Like Ananda followed Buddha.
One was in quest for Wisdom,
We were in search for freedom.
For dreams we had dreamt
And hopes we had cherished,
Of our own LAND,
A small ‘Homeland.’
Within our great ‘Motherland.’
Many years we struggled
Under the glare of the scorching sun,
Beneath the darkness of the unfathomed earth.
No one could ever dare stop us
From marching towards our goal.
For every individual,
From an infant to old
Were ready to sacrifice their souls.
Day in and day out we worked as slaves,
Groping in dark jungles and labyrinth caves.
On empty stomach we slept in pain,
We knew, on full stomach there couldn’t be any gain.
We fought over
the dales and valleys’
In sun and rain.
Fought the young and the old
Fought the juveniles’
with all their heart and soul.
All of us sought,
Our only goal.
Dreamt, our only dream.
HOMELAND…HOMELAND…HOMELAND.
That was and is
Our only goal. Our only dream.
Without it we cannot live.

For it, everything we shall give.

Many lost their lives,
In the fight for their birthright,
Yes, RIGHT!
Under Article 3(a) of the law of the land.
Our FIGHT?
For IDENTITY, DESTINY AND SURVIVAL.
Our intention are indeed very noble.
All we wanted was a piece of land,
As our fellow brethren already have one in hand.
What we got in return the world knows.
That is why, We Fought
And the Fight continues……….
Until “VOX POPULI, VOX DEI” prevails.

Penned In Pain....

It is with little hesitation I am writing this piece entitled, “Penned in Pain.” It is an easy task to fill pages of paper with essays, ...
